This publication aims to introduce the concept of National Human Rights Institutions, which forms an important component in human rights protection. This publication also seeks to draw attention to the ideas behind the foundation of the German Institute for Human Rights. The Resolution ‘to establish an Institute for Human Rights’ made explicit reference to the Paris Principles.
