The Support for Good Governance (SfGG) project supported by Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit aimed at increasing the accountability of the public sector, supporting the creation of a performancebased civil service and promoting anticorruption initiatives – with strong efforts to strengthen civic involvement. Between 2000 and 2009, SfGG was implemented. Cooperation partners included civil society organisations, local governments, and the National Institute of Public Administration (training centre of the administration). The overall goal of SfGG was the improvement of public service delivery for all Indonesian citizens.
The “Promising Practices” series presents development cooperation programs that have implemented elements of a human rights-based approach. The individual publications describe the measures implemented by the project, its impact and lessons learned.
